The Friends of Oberlin Village - Raleigh, North Carolina

Our goal was to assist the Friends of Oberlin Village, in telling the story of their rich history.

The Friends of Oberlin was formed to preserve the legacy and grounds of the Oberlin Cemetery, and to record a definitive registry of persons laid to rest at the site.  Oberlin Cemetery was established in 1873 by the people of Oberlin Village, which was one of the first communities of freed African Americans after the Civil War.
